Service/Utility Trucks for your business or municipality - What to look for when getting a work truck!

Whether you are buying a service truck for your hvac, electrical, plumbing, contractor business or for your municipality, you want to make sure that you look for a quality truck that pays for itself in terms of usability and durability.

You also want to make sure you get what you pay for at the dealership.

Service trucks many times look similar on the outside, but there are big differences when you look at the details, such as body construction, quality of materials, maintenance performed and features such as security, design, storage and racks, etc.

There are two main type of service trucks, open bodies and enclosed bodies. Enclosed bodies are ideal for HVAC, electrical, plumbing or construction.

When it comes to considering the features of the service truck, security is one of the most important. Make sure the outside handles are made of sturdy, quality materials and they are plated with anti-corrosive material like zinc. Check out if the service truck has a master locking system for an extra layer of security.

Another important thing to check is the shelving and storage containers. Shelving should be adjustable at several levels. The storage bins should fit just right so there is not a lot of movement around. Overhead racks with swing crossbars should make it easier for loading and unloading tall items.
